8.0/10

My stay at the Grosvenor was overall quite lovely. The spa services were delightful, and the dining experience, especially at Simon Radley, was exceptional. However, I did find the room amenities a bit lacking, particularly with the bathroom setup and a small TV. Also, I expected a little more attention to special occasions, given the hotel's reputation for high service standards.

Rooms
7.0
The room was spacious and had a huge, comfy bed, but the bathroom shower over the bath could use some improvement with water pressure, and the TV was rather small compared to other hotels I've stayed in.
Service
8.0
The service throughout was professional and attentive. The reception staff was welcoming, and the dining service at the restaurant was knowledgeable, though I felt it could have been faster during breakfast.
Location
9.0
The hotel is perfectly situated, making it easy to explore Chester's attractions, especially within walking distance to shops and the racecourse.
Dining
8.0
Dining was a highlight, particularly the tasting menu at Simon Radley, which was fantastic. However, I did find the cooked breakfast option a bit overpriced considering the quality.
Facilities
8.0
The spa facilities were impressive, although the thermal suite felt somewhat small for longer visits. The overall ambiance was quite calming.

I had a fantastic stay at the hotel for my wife's 40th birthday, appreciating the central location and the comfortable room. However, there were some issues with the dining experience and staff service that made the stay less than perfect. While we enjoyed the executive room, the dining options could be improved, especially the breakfast service and menu variety.

Rooms
8.0
The executive room was well-sized and comfortable, albeit in need of some cosmetic updates.
Service
5.0
While some staff were welcoming, the service during breakfast and dinner left much to be desired, with slow service and a few unpleasant interactions.

Dining

The dining experience was average to below, with the dinner menu mix-ups and disappointing breakfast choices being key highlights.
Facilities

The hotel offers a nice ambiance, but unfortunately, some areas felt dated.

8.6/10

The hotel is a beautiful place to stay with luxurious rooms and excellent service. The central location makes exploring the city a breeze, and the dining options, especially breakfast, offer a lot of variety but could be better. Overall, I found great value for money, but a few service lapses at the bar were disappointing.

Rooms

The rooms were beautiful, clean, and incredibly comfortable, providing a luxurious touch to our stay.

7.6/10

My stay at this hotel was pretty enjoyable overall. It has a fantastic location, right in the heart of Chester, making it super easy to explore the local attractions. The staff were genuinely attentive and catered to my needs well, although I did experience some hiccups during the dining experience. The ambiance is great, but some amenities could use a little updating. Overall, I'd say it's good value for a nice getaway.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were elegantly decorated and comfortable, with a good-sized bed. However, I found the plumbing a bit outdated, which detracted from the experience.
Service
8.0
Most of the staff provided exceptional service, really going the extra mile to ensure I was taken care of. I did encounter a less accommodating staff member during checkout, which mildly affected my impression.
Location
10.0
The location was absolutely perfect for exploring Chester. You step out of the hotel, and you're right in the center surrounded by shops and attractions.
Dining
5.0
While I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, my meal at the Brasserie was a letdown, especially since I had to send my main dish back due to poor quality.
Facilities
8.0
The spa facilities were a highlight; very relaxing and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. However, I think some of the amenities could use updating to match what you expect from a luxurious hotel.

I had a wonderful experience at The Chester Grosvenor for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The staff treated us like royalty and the suite was absolutely stunning. However, there were some small issues, like missed requests and a minor delay with valet parking upon our departure. Overall, it was a memorable stay, making me eager to return at the right price.
